How to Draw an Easy Eye!

Lets draw a realistic eye in pencil. Here’s an easy drawing lesson that will help you to get started drawing faces quickly and easily.

Supplies:

A pencil. Any pencil is fine for this beginner lesson. I suggest an HB, 2B or 4B. My favorite is a mechanical HB pencil.
A pencil sharpener and plastic eraser - the white kind is best, but any color will do.
Paper or sketchbook

Follow along with this simple drawing tutorial to draw a realistic looking eye.

First step is to lightly sketch an outline of all the major shapes you see. Keep your lines soft and light so you can erase them easily if you need to make corrections.

Sketch an outline shape of the eye and eyelid.

Add some details. Define the highlight area that is to be left white. Darken the major shadow areas.

Add more details, eyelashes & fine lines that define the eye's shape.

Detail the cornea with lines and shading. Shade the corner of the eye. Add subtle wrinkles below.

Complete the shading around the eye. Add shading to the cornea. Gently erase highlight details. Finally, go over the darkest areas one final time to create more depth.
